  • 1 cup warm milk About 110°F (43°C) is ideal for the yeast activation.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted For richness in flavor.
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature for better incorporation.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Can add extra for a cozy aroma.
  • 1/2 cup dried fruit (e.g., cranberries, raisins) Substitute with other dried fruits like apricots.
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon For a warm, spiced flavor.

Preparation

  • In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  • In another large bowl, mix flour, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla to the flour mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Incorporate dried fruits into the dough.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  • Place it in a greased loaf pan, cover, and let it rise again for another 30 minutes.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let it cool before slicing and enjoy.

Notes

For storage, wrap cooled bread in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and keep at room temperature. It can also be frozen for later use. To revitalize, warm in the microwave for 10 seconds or toast in the oven.
