Preparation

  • Gather your cubed bread and place it in a large mixing bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
  • Pour the custard over the bread cubes, ensuring each piece is coated. Let sit for about 10 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with melted butter.
  • Fold the soaked bread mixture into the prepared dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for about 45 to 55 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Serving

  • Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 to 15 minutes before cutting into squares.
  • Serve warm with optional toppings such as powdered sugar, caramel sauce, and whipped cream.

Notes
